Abusers who are known to law enforcement officials and perpetrators in the home are labeled as violent offenders. This type of abuse includes physical, emotional, sexual and verbal abuse as well as neglect or maltreatment.The topic of abuse is often difficult to research because there are no legal sanctions for it. However, it can be categorized into three types. These include neglectful or cruel treatment of a child that can lead to serious consequences like death, confinement, and withdrawal from school.Physical abuse that results in serious consequences for the child is clearly abuse. Violent, sexual and abusive behaviors toward children can be classified as neglect that can result in serious consequences. This includes family violence that does not result in injury and is not documented. Other forms of abuse include physical, sexual and verbal abuse.Neglect can result in a severe form of abuse which requires professional intervention for the child's welfare. We can categorize the other forms of abuse as being unprofessional and not taken seriously by the child's parents.Child abuse that falls into the category of mistreatment is unacceptable, yet it occurs frequently. Mistreatment includes corporal punishment and regular beatings of a child that has not been identified as abusive. Children in general are neglected, and children may receive a normal diet for much of their life.It is important to have a written research paper on child abuse if you have worked in the field of psychology for any length of time. If you are already in this field and have an opinion, it will make the process of getting a job easier, but most importantly it will help get the word out that you are qualified for the job.Abuse is one of the most important topics for psychologists because it impacts the entire family. Statistics have shown that near ly 20% of all abused children will develop psychological disorders or physical disabilities by the time they reach adulthood. This means that an abuser has a child within their grasp and that the abuser should be punished severely punished.
